Singer, songwriter, Beatle, instrumentalist, composer, and a Sir — Paul McCartney is a man of many talents and titles.

Through shaping countless experimental musical genres from pop ballads to hard and psychedelic rock, he has rocked our lives and captivated our hearts for nearly sixty years.

The phenomenal fame that came with The Beatles’ in the 1960’s caused international ‘Beatlemania’: true fan frenzy. They provided a soundtrack for a post-war generation, diving deep into themes of love, peace, and rock ‘n’ roll. McCartney shared the role of one of the most successful songwriting teams in history with John Lennon, producing sounds that not only steeped emotional resonance  but could energise a dance floor simultaneously.

Already an influential figure by the band’s split, McCartney easily embarked on other ventures and had a constant musical presence throughout the 70’s and 80’s with Wings and a successful solo career. On the side, he experimented with classical compositions, electronic music, and collaborations with stars such as Michael Jackson, Kanye West, and Stevie Wonder — ensuring there is no musical stone is left unturned.

To classify such a man on music alone would be an injustice — he represents so much more. McCartney has continued to shape the world for the better with his social activism and philanthropic activities. At the same time, he still continues to sell out tours and deliver groundbreaking performances that show no signs of slowing. He’s a titan of the musical industry and a generation-spanning presence. There’s no doubt why he’s known by many as the most successful composer and recording artist of all time.
