From being bullied at school, to becoming a successful model, singer, fashion designer and actress, Milla Jovovich overcame the odds to become a household name in the creative industry.

Born in Ukraine in 1975, and moving to California in 1981, Jovovich’s first taste of fame came as an 11 year old when she was chosen to be one of Revlon’s “Most Unforgettable Women in the World” models. Known for her striking blue eyes and feline features, she has appeared in over 100 magazine covers, as well as walking the runway for luxurious brands like Christian Dior, Donna Karan and Versace.

Jovovich had her big acting break in 1993’s Dazed and Confused, starring alongside Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey. Though her role in the film had been reduced, she soon rose past this to become the “reigning queen of kicking butt” after taking on the role of Alice in the film adaptation of Resident Evil. Since then, she has become a household Hollywood name, having an impressive catalogue of over 30 sci-fi and action films to her name.

Aside from her career as a model and actress, Jovovich has released a studio album, and created a fashion line with fellow model Carmen Hawk, proving that she’s far more than just a pretty face.
